Being charged with a crime can be devastating to you and your family.  There is
often a temptation to try to explain away the charges directly to the police or
investigating agents.  If you are charged or are even being questioned regarding a
crime, contact us.  You have the right to remain silent, use it.  If you find yourself in
the Monroe County Correctional Facility, the Pike County Correctional Facility or
elsewhere incarcerated, don't say anything over the jail phones in any way related
to your case.  Avoid the phone lines entirely if you cannot follow that rule.  Call us
or have a family member or friend contact us.  An attorney is required to keep your
communications confidential.  In criminal prosecutions, the governments strongest
evidence often comes from the defendant -- don't be that defendant.  We help
coordinate bail, call us prior to bailing yourself out.  If you have received a criminal
summons and have a date set for a preliminary hearing, call us as soon as possible.
You need an attorney for that hearing.

Our Practice
Attorneys James Swetz and Brandon Reish have counseled many suspects and
defended people accused of a variety crimes ranging from DUI to Drug Offenses to
Rape to Capital Murder Cases.  Choosing a criminal attorney with knowledge,
experience, and a devotion to criminal law is a benefit you should choose.

Whether negotiations lead to an acceptable plea deal, a trial is necessary to vindicate
your innocence, or an appeal is required to preserve your rights, we will be
innovative, persuasive, and aggressive.  The practical aspects of sentencing are a
cornerstone of any criminal practice.  The
Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing
develops guidelines that apply to convictions in Pennsylvania.  Additionally, there
are various statutes that can enhance sentences through mandatory penalties or
collateral consequences (such as license suspensions).  We will review in depth with
you the potential penalties associated with your offense and inform any decisions
that you may choose to make.
